I would like to extend an invitation to you, your family and friends who have Asthma and/or Allergies to participate in clinical studies. Our clinical research center, Clinical Trials of Orange County, Inc. (CTOC) has conducted over 300 FDA approved studies and is currently recruiting patients from our practice and outside our practice to participate in studies.
Research studies, or trials, as they are often called, depend on volunteers who agree to be part of carefully controlled tests that measure the effects of medication, medical treatments, or devices. By volunteering, you and/ or your child, family or friends can further medical knowledge and potentially help other children and adults. Involvement in research trials is crucial to understanding diseases and developing new ways to understand, prevent or treat health problems. All new medications must complete extensive testing before they are marketed in the United States.
Why participate in a Clinical Research Study and what is included at no charge?
- All medical care/visits related to the research study.
- Exams performed by Dr. Galant, Dr. Lin, or Nurse Practitioner.
- All laboratory tests and study medications.
- Breathing tests (for asthmatics) and skin tests (for patients with allergies).
- Possibly receiving a new medication or new improved medication to treat your condition.
- Education about the latest medical management and research treatments for your condition.
- Monetary compensation for your time and travel expenses.
Is there a charge of any type to participate?
No, we never bill you or your insurance company. On the contrary we pay you for your participation if you qualify. This is the perfect opportunity for patients without insurance to see a board certified allergist and have all study related tests done at no charge!
Who can participate?
Patients from our practice, children ages 2 and above, adolescents and adults who have allergies and or asthma can also participate.
Free Screening Program
We also invite family and friends that may have allergies and or asthma from outside our practice for a Free Screening visit (see Screening Certificates). This is a great opportunity to find out what your family and friends might be allergic to and if they do have asthma, are they on the right medications for their condition or maybe they have never been diagnosed and treated!
